Video Remote Interpreting (VRI) is an on-demand sign language interpreting service.
This service is delivered over a live Internet video connection. The interpreting services are not immediately available on-site.
The Commission recognizes the potential benefits of such services; we also recognize the limitations. Our position statement explains the agency’s stance and welcomes stories from the community.
Have you had a poor experience with VRI in New Mexico? NMCDHH is gathering data regarding ineffective use of VRI and providing advocacy to assure our constituents are receiving effective communication access. Please contact us and share your stories.
