The New Mexico Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing would like to address recent discussions about the Support Service Providers (SSPs) across the state for our DeafBlind, Deaf Plus, and Deaf Senior community. Many of you are hearing that the current provider of the service will not be continuing to provide SSP services with the State of New Mexico. We understand many of you may be concerned that this might mean services will stop. NMCDHH values the work of the individual SSPs and is working through the state procurement process to make sure this is not the case. We will continue to work and find a provider that achieves all the goals and services that we have heard the community request over the past few years. It is our goal to have a provider in place by the new fiscal year in July and we look forward to the continued SSP services in our state.
