The Museum of International Folk Art in Santa Fe is offering an Open Captioned film screening and Presentation with ASL Interpretation.
Where Are We Going? What Are We Doing? Elma Pratt’s International School of Art, 1928-1967
Film Screening and Presentation – Sunday, May 7 – 1:00-4:00 PM
Meet Elma Pratt (1888-1977), founder of the innovative International School of Art and its immersive 20th century folk art excursions.
Join us at 1:00 PM for a screening of Clara Viola Hoover’s film of Pratt’s Summer 1938 program in Hungary, preserved with funding from the National Film Preservation Foundation.
The film will be followed at 2:45 PM by Nicole Cardassilaris, PhD, educator and humanities scholar, who will recount Pratt’s life as an artist, art educator, explorer, and champion of international folk arts.
ASL interpretation is provided for the screening introduction and public talk. The film will be presented with open captions. Funded by the International Folk Art Foundation.
